B\ufeffen Te'o<\/a> has quit as Broncos<\/a> assistant coach after a heated clash with Michael Maguire<\/a><\/p>\n

The pair were reportedly involved in a verbal altercation leading into Brisbane's win over the Storm<\/a> last Friday, according to The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Te'o met with Maguire and football boss Troy Thomson on Monday night, but were unable to patch things up, leading to his depart from the reigning premiers.<\/p>\n

The club have confirmed to Wide World Of Sports that Te'o handed in his resignation.<\/p>\n

\ufeffBroncos chief executive Dave Donaghy will front media on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The former State of Origin enforcer, who won a premiership with Maguire at South Sydney in 2014\ufeff, had signed an extension with the club last year until the end of 2028.<\/p>\n

He also played 96 first grade games for the Broncos across two stints.<\/p>\n

Broncos \ufeffprop Ben Talty was quizzed about the incident between Maguire and Te'o during a pre-arranged press conference on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

"I saw it on Instagram this morning, I haven't read too much into it," he said.<\/p>\n

"I don't know what's coming or how true the situation is, but I can't really comment on it.<\/p>\n

"Benny's a fantastic coach, he's our defence coach, and we try to pride ourselves on our defence as well as a team."<\/p>\n

Edge forward Brendan Piakura was full of praise for Te'o and his work at the club.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"He's done really well for me, just learning \ufeffoff him – he was a great player and a great coach as well, we won a grand final together last year," Piakura said.<\/p>\n

Te'o was on radio commentary for Triple M during Sunday's Titans-Cowboys game.<\/p>\n
