T\ufeffry-scoring record-breaker<\/a> Alex Johnston<\/a> has revealed Wayne Bennett<\/a> was in no mood for social media content after his star player's feat against the Roosters.<\/p>\n

Johnston broke Ken Irvine's record at Allianz Stadium which led to fans swarming the ground and the Rabbitohs retreating to the sheds until the ground was ready for the game to resume.<\/p>\n

Bennett, who did not want a pitch invasion, \ufeffwas captured delivering a stern message to his side during the unscheduled break and pointing assertively towards Johnston.<\/p>\n

Whatever he said didn't quite work, with South Sydney unable to honour the winger with a victory.<\/p>\n

And while the Rabbitohs lost on the scoreboard, it sounds like their social media team was on the losing side of things too.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffOne of our media guys actually clipped one of the recorders on me, and he (Bennett) saw it and ran over, grabbed it and threw it away," Johnston said on Nine's 100% Footy<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"Which was fair enough, I didn't really want it on either."<\/p>\n

Footage from the sheds showed Bennett \ufeffracing towards Johnston in the huddle, taking the microphone off his shirt, staring down someone in the distance and throwing it away.<\/p>\n

Jayden Sullivan was seen giving a little smirk while players looked for where the microphone went. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Bennett has played a major role in Johnston's career, with revelations before the milestone match that \ufeffa letter from the winger kept him at the club previously.<\/p>\n

"I was pretty much out the door at South Sydney, and fortunately for myself \ufeffI wrote this letter and gave a little spiel about why I want to stay and I went into a meeting and was told the news there's actually no room for me," he said.<\/p>\n
