Tottenham Hotspur's<\/a> Antonin Kinsky was substituted after just 16 minutes of a goalkeeping horror show against Atletico Madrid.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old from the Czech Republic made two awful bloopers to concede goals in that time while teammate Micky van de Ven slipped on the Madrid turf before Antoine Griezmann's goal.<\/p>\n

Marcos Llorente scored Atletico's first goal in the sixth minute of the Champions League<\/a> match when \ufeffKinsky slipped and misfired attempting a routine long ball.<\/p>\n

Football's<\/strong><\/em> new home, Stan Sport<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, is the only place to watch the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, WSL, European World Cup qualifiers, J.League, NSWL and K League<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Kinsky then \ufeffmade a complete mess of another attempted clearance as Julian Alvarez pounced to make it 3-0.<\/p>\n

Guglielmo Vicario then took Kinsky's place in goal for the first leg of the round of 16 tie. It was Kinsky's first Champions League start.<\/p>\n

"Enough is enough. Igor Tudor puts him out of his pain," Leslie said.<\/p>\n

"His pers\ufeffonal one anyway. The private pain will continue for some time. He'll need some looking after.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

Atletico won the match 5-2 after leading 4-1 at halftime.<\/p>\n

Kinsky lay face down after his second howler, with his hands covering his face. He got up but stayed knelt down, one arm across his knee.<\/p>\n

He looked inconsolable as he walked down the tunnel at Metropolitano Stadium, with two teammates catching him up to offer their sympathies.<\/p>\n

Kinsky shook his head as he walked off the field – to some applause by sympathetic Atletico fans.<\/p>\n

One teammate was seen with his arm around the shoulder of Kinsky as they walked to the locker room.<\/p>\n

Kinsky was signed by Tottenham from Slavia Prague in January last year amid an injury crisis in the goalkeeper department.<\/p>\n

He was hailed as a goalkeeper for the future, and regarded as especially good with his feet.<\/p>\n

Kinsky's only two previous appearances this season have come in the League Cup, making it a huge decision by Tudor to call up Kinsky for Tottenham's biggest game of the campaign so far.<\/p>\n

Kinsky clearly wasn't ready for such a big occasion and Tudor will have questions to answer.<\/p>\n

Vicario had put in some shaky recent performances, having conceded two or more goals in each of Tottenham's last nine Premier League games – none of which the team had won.<\/p>\n

In fact, Tottenham is on a club record winless run of 11 matches in the Premier League, losing its last five as it battles relegation.<\/p>\n

The Italian's kicking and distribution has been particularly scrutinized, most recently in the 3-1 home loss to Crystal Palace last week.<\/p>\n

Tudor chose to take Vicario out of the firing line – but that didn't last long.<\/p>\n

Tottenham has been an ever present in the Premier League since the competition was founded in 1992, and last played in the second tier in the 1977-78 season.<\/p>\n

Before this match, the Champions League had proved to be a welcome distraction for Tottenham from its domestic woes.<\/p>\n

The team finished fourth in the league stage, behind only Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, after winning five of its eight games.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Wednesday (AEDT), \ufeffGalatasaray claimed a 1-0 first leg win over Liverpool in Istanbul.<\/a><\/p>\n

Mario Lemina's seventh-minute header secured the win for Galatasaray, which stunned Juventus with a 7-5 aggregate victory in the playoffs.<\/p>\n

The second leg is at Anfield next Thursday (AEDT).<\/p>\n

Galatasaray had chances to take an even bigger lead to Merseyside, with Victor Osimhen's second half strike ruled out for offside. Liverpool saw Ibrahima Konate's effort disallowed by VAR for handball.<\/p>\n

Lemina headed the ball into the net in from close range after Osimhen headed goalward from a corner.<\/p>\n

"We created a lot of chances, but we also missed a lot," Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk said.<\/p>\n
