All members of Pakistan's T20 World Cup<\/a> squad have been fined by the PCB for the team's exit at the super eight stage.<\/p>\n

Pakistan's campaign ended without a trip to the semi-finals, marking the fourth straight ICC event in which the side has failed to reach the last four. That's never happened in the country's history.<\/p>\n

As a result, each player has been penalised $25,339 AUD, according to ESPNcricinfo.<\/p>\n

The fines \ufeffwere imposed solely due to the team's performance on the field.<\/p>\n

The decision was made immediately after Pakistan's 61-run defeat to India in the group stage.<\/p>\n

The board told the players the fines would be waived if the team progressed to the semi-finals.<\/p>\n

While the players did not reach their desired goal, there was some improvement\ufeff as they avoided a third straight first-round exit.<\/p>\n

A washout against New Zealand was followed by defeat to England, which meant other results needed to fall their way to advance.<\/p>\n

When New Zealand scored a dominant win over Sri Lanka, Pakistan could only advance with a victory by a large margin against the latter.<\/p>\n

And while they defeated Sri Lanka,\ufeff the margin was not big enough to secure a semi-final berth.<\/p>\n

The PCB has previously taken firm action following major tournament disappointments, though typically on disciplinary grounds.<\/p>\n

No internal issues were reported within the squad over the financial penalty.<\/p>\n

Late last year,\ufeff following a narrow defeat to India in the Asia Cup final, the PCB knocked back permission for players to take part in T20 leagues through the winter.<\/p>\n
