Controversial UFC fighter Colby Covington is once again turning heads for the wrong reasons, after making sexual comments about a fellow fighter on a podcast.<\/p>\n
Covington, 33, who is the number one welterweight contender in the world, was recently on Australian MMA podcast Submission Radio<\/a> when asked if he had been offered a fight against fellow American Leon Edwards.<\/p>\n "There wasn't much talks. I was balls deep in Polyana Viana, so to get me off the couch on three weeks notice to fight some Leon (Edwards) guy, it was going to be a price tag," Covington said.<\/p>\n The pair had posed together a few weeks earlier for a photo which Covington posted on his Instagram account.<\/p>\n https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CMAYu0-Bb4H\/<\/a><\/p>\n When asked if they were an item, Covington was slightly coy.<\/p>\n "Everybody's going to have to use their imagination on that one. I'm not claiming to be her boyfriend, but what's up with titles these days? Why does there have to be a title? Why can't two adults just have fun together?"<\/p>\n Viana, for her part, said on social media that she had never done anything to incite comments about her personal life.<\/p>\n https:\/\/twitter.com\/Polyana_VianaDF\/status\/1373393049338843137<\/a><\/p>\n "I feel sorry for those who act so low to try to promote themselves," she wrote on Twitter.<\/p>\n When asked about the photo, she said they were "just friends" and that "I already have a boyfriend."<\/p>\n "It is revolting," she added.<\/p>\n The 28-year-old Brazilian strawweight was on a three-fight losing streak in the UFC before victories in each of her last two fights, including a win last month at UFC 258.<\/p>\n It is not the first time this year that UFC has had to deal with a male fighter making sexual comments about a female colleague.<\/p>\n At the start of the year, Casey Kenney was asked on a podcast with fellow fighter Sean O'Malley if he would 'smash' Australian featherweight Megan Anderson.<\/p>\n "She's not too \u2026 well, I mean, if it came down to it, and it was like 5am, 4, she's a 5am-er, 4am-er.
