Patrick Dangerfield<\/a> may be in his 13th season in the AFL, but admits he was taken aback by the scrutiny placed on him after his bump on Adelaide's Jake Kelly.<\/p>\n

Dangerfield was handed a three-game suspension<\/a> at the AFL Tribunal for the hit, after the AFL's MRO ruled that the bump had a severe impact on the Crows defender. <\/p>\n

Despite being one of the biggest names in the game, Dangerfield admitted that he found the scrutiny leading up to the Tribunal "confronting".<\/p>\n

"It's hard to shut off from it. You feel like you're on trial for murder," he told SEN's Whateley.<\/em><\/p>\n

"It's an eye-opener for someone who hasn't been through it before, I haven't been through it before, so that was interesting."<\/p>\n

Dangerfield admitted that he hadn't initially considered that he could be suspended for the incident.<\/p>\n

"After the game, I didn't think there was anything in it at all to be honest," he said.<\/p>\n

"And then I suppose the hours unfold, the day passes, it goes from 'I didn't think there was anything in it', because it was in play to, 'I'm in a bit of trouble here'."<\/p>\n

Dangerfield will miss Geelong's matches against Brisbane, Hawthorn and Melbourne, with his comeback slated for the Cats' Round Five clash against North Melbourne.<\/p>\n
