Geelong<\/a> has granted forward Tyson Stengle<\/a> addition leave away from the club after pre-season training started following Christmas.<\/p>\n

Stengle had commenced his break from Cats training earlier than his teammates in December to deal with personal issues. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Geelong believe Stengle will return to training in the short-term.<\/p>\n

"Tyson's welfare is our priority and, with the support of the club, he'll be given the time he needs before returning to training," executive general manager of football Andrew Mackie said in a statement on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Geelong's first match will be on March 6 against the Gold Coast in Opening Round.<\/p>\n

Stengle is the second AFL player to be granted leave \ufefffrom pre-season after Bobby Hill was given time off by Collingwood three days ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2021 Stengle joined the Cats after spending time in the SANFL off the back of being delisted by Adelaide for off-field issues<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old went on to win the 2022 premiership with Geelong and earned All-Australian selection.<\/p>\n
