T\ufeffravis Head<\/a> has revealed one hilarious piece of internal dialogue from his match-winning century in the first Ashes<\/a> Test as the debate over Australia's top-order rages on.<\/p>\n

The left-hander produced a knock for the ages to give the hosts an early series lead over England, scoring 123 off 83 deliveries on day two in Perth. <\/p>\n

\ufeffHead smashed 16 fours and four maximums, receiving widespread adulation from all corners of the global cricket community in the days that have followed.<\/p>\n

However, there was one moment the 31-year-old admitted he got a little nervous.<\/p>\n

"I accidentally hit Jofra [Archer] back over his head for six at one point and calmly walked back and marked centre and was like 'Oh my god, why did I just do that?'<\/p>\n

"Marnus came down and was like, 'I know you're trying to act cool, but that's unbelievable' and he's yelling and screaming, and he's hoo hah-ing.<\/p>\n

"I'm like, 'Mate, get back to the other end, at any moment they can put a hole through me'. I don't want to get on the bad side of them, especially the first Test. I don't want to get on the wrong side of these blokes, I just want to go about my business."<\/p>\n

Head's knock has also led to increased debate about the make-up of the side's batting order for the rest of the series, with Usman Khawaja under immense pressure<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old failed to open the batting due to back spasms in the first innings and was then replaced by Head for the second dig, allowing the South Australian to thrive.<\/p>\n

\ufeffIt now poses the question whether Head should remain at the top and allow either Beau Webster or Josh Inglis to slide into the middle-order position.<\/p>\n

Head says he will be happy to do whatever job is required for the Test team – whether it be opening in place of Khawaja or staying at his usual No.5 spot.<\/p>\n

"I've done a lot of [opening] in international cricket," he said.<\/p>\n

"We haven't had those conversations yet. I haven't been open about it in the media, but I've been open about in the background about where I've stood with it.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffCompletely respectful to Uzzy – there's some touchy subjects in it all.<\/p>\n

"I'm comfortable anywhere I bat. I've got a blueprint and a tempo, [a way] I want to go about things. That certainly isn't as hard as I went the other day."<\/p>\n
