Australian Test<\/a> captain Pat Cummins<\/a> will return for the second Test, after missing his side's dominant win in Perth.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHe has been sidelined with a back stress injury that has plagued him dating back to the mid-year tour of the West Indies.<\/p>\n

However, he has been ramping up and bowling in the nets and has been given the all-clear to return.\ufeff <\/p>\n

There were early fears he might not return for this series at all, but he has clearly put those doubts to bed. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Cummins bowled in the nets in Perth, with Cricket Australia now confident he can handle the rigours of the upcoming pink-ball Test.<\/p>\n

He also bowled at NSW training on Tuesday, alongside Josh Hazlewood<\/a>, who is recovering from a hamstring strain. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Selectors will reportedly add the skipper to the existing 14-man squad, without removing somebody else.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old will likely replace debutant Brendan Doggett in the XI.\ufeff Hazlewood however remains unavailable.<\/p>\n

"I don't think he's out for the whole series," coach Andrew McDonald said of Hazlewood earlier in the week.<\/p>\n

"I don't know where that speculation has begun, but he's working through the first week of his rehab. Once he gets further down the track and we start to have some sort of rough timelines, then we'll be in a position to communicate that."<\/p>\n

The second Test gets under way at the Gabba on December 5.<\/p>\n
