England<\/a> paceman Mark Wood has reported stiffness in his left hamstring, sending a scare through camp ahead of The Ashes.<\/p>\n

Wood bowled eight overs \ufeffon day one of England's tour match against the England Lions.<\/p>\n

An ECB spokesperson confirmed eight overs was always the plan. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"He has some stiffness in his left hamstring, which has kept him off the field for some time during the second session of the first day and will undergo a precautionary scan tomorrow," the statement read.<\/p>\n

"He is expected to bowl again in two days' time.<\/p>\n

"It is unlikely he will return to the field today."<\/p>\n

Wood finished with 0-29\ufeff with Ben Stokes doing the majority of the damage, dismissing Tom Haines (20), Jacob Bethell (2), Jordan Cox (53) and Rehan Ahmed (16).<\/p>\n

Ben McKinney scored 67 before he was caught behind off Josh Tongue's bowling.<\/p>\n

Stokes ended up with six wickets as the Lions were bowled out for 382. Will Jacks top scored with 84. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Wood comes into the Ashes series off the back of a long lay off from a knee injury.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHamstring injuries are all the rave right now after Sean Abbott and Josh Hazlewood left the field at the SCG during NSW's Shield match against Victoria.<\/p>\n
