The South Sydney Rabbitohs<\/a> and the NRL community are mourning the death of local junior and Jersey Flegg Cup player Johannes Logan.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old prospect \ufeffwas named to play in South Sydney's Jersey Flegg squad for 2026 before his death earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Logan is not only being remembered for his abilities on the football field but also his willingness to support his teammates and rivals both in and away from the game. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The Rabbitohs confirmed the young player's death in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

"The young middle forward had developed strong bonds and friendships within the playing group and staff," the statement read.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"He will be dearly missed by everyone connected to the Rabbitohs.<\/p>\n

\"Johannes<\/p>\n

"The South Sydney Rabbitohs, the RLPA, the NRL and St Joseph's College are supporting the Logan family, Johannes' friends, teammates, clubmates and staff at this very difficult time. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"We all request privacy for his family and friends while they \ufeffmourn the passing of Johannes."<\/p>\n

South Sydney were confident that Logan was on the path to breaking into the NRL, with the club securing his signature at the start of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

Prior \ufeffto joining the club, he played schoolboy rugby union, where he represented St Joseph's College and NSW.<\/p>\n

Logan also competed in rugby league and was captain of his school's swim team.<\/p>\n

With the Rabbitohs, Logan represented the club in eight SG Ball Cup games and one Jersey Flegg match during the 2025 season. \ufeff<\/p>\n

A Go Fund Me campaign has been launched to support the Logan family through this time. \ufeff<\/p>\n
