If Marnus Labuschagne<\/a> had anything left to prove in the race for an Ashes<\/a> recall, he eliminated all doubt with another ton for Queensland<\/a> on Monday, this time in the One Day Cup. <\/p>\n

\ufeffHe scored 101 off 110 balls against New South Wales<\/a>, his fifth ton so far across first class and List A cricket.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old was eventually dismissed by Jack Edwards, but he had helped lead Queensland to a score of 9\/287.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Teammate Matt Renshaw<\/a>, who is also in the Test frame, only made three at Cricket Central in Sydney.<\/p>\n

\ufeffLabuschagne was dropped from the Test XI for the tour of the West Indies in July after an extended lean patch, but has clearly re-found his confidence and form.<\/p>\n

He has 50 more runs in the Sheffield Shield than any other player, despite playing only four innings, with the only question now being whether he returns to open the batting or whether he slots in at three come the first Ashes Test in Perth.<\/p>\n

If he opens, which is what is rumoured, Cameron Green will likely bat at three, with Beau Webster retaining his spot at six.<\/p>\n

Otherwise, Labuschagne would bat at three, a separate opener would be picked and one of Green or Webster would miss out.\ufeff<\/p>\n

New South Welshmen Sam Konstas<\/a> is the incumbent opener and is in desperate need of runs to keep his hopes alive of being selected for the first Test.<\/p>\n

He made 47 off 74 balls for NSW as they attempted to answer Labuschagne and Queensland's efforts.\ufeff<\/p>\n

It's been a lean spring for Konstas so far, averaging 20 in the Sheffield Shield.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Tasmanian opener Jake Weatherald is also in the frame, but scores of zero and 12 against Victoria haven't helped his cause. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Labuschagne's return to form is a huge boost for the Aussies, who take an unsettled batting line-up into the Ashes, with question marks dogging the top order.\ufeff<\/p>\n
