Aussie<\/a> captain Alyssa Healy<\/a> has revealed that she has played her last ODI World Cup match, signalling a period of change for Australia after the team's shock semi-final loss to India on Thursday night<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Aussies' bid to defend their title ended after India completed the biggest run-chase in ODI World Cup<\/a> history to secure a stunning five-wicket victory.<\/p>\n

Unbeaten throughout the tournament, Australia looked certain to reach the final after posting a commanding total of 338 while batting first in Mumbai.<\/p>\n

But \ufeffdespite the daunting target, India chased the total down with nine balls to spare, driven by Jemimah Rodrigues' scintillating century.<\/p>\n

The hometown hero scored 127 not out off 134 balls \u2014 including 14 fours \u2014 in an effort that capitalised on a costly dropped catch from Healy.<\/p>\n

On 82, Rodrigues survived a massive scare when Healy dropped a regulation catch off Alana King.<\/p>\n

Healy, who had her wicketkeeping gloves off, let the chance slip through her fingers, a pivotal and costly error that allowed Rodrigues to remain unbeaten and guide India to the record win.<\/p>\n

Speaking post-match, Healy admitted that Australia was its own worst enemy.<\/p>\n

"We did that to ourselves a little bit," she said.<\/p>\n

"It's probably the first time that I've felt like we've done that. So, we probably didn't finish off with the bat, didn't bowl that great and dropped all our chances in the field, and still hung in there until the second last over.<\/p>\n

"So, I mean, we can take something out of that, but ultimately, outdone in the end."<\/p>\n

All up, the Aussies dropped three catches, with Healy's costly failure to hold onto Rodrigues proving to be the most damaging.<\/p>\n

"I think we created enough [chances]. We created pressure," she said.<\/p>\n

"We created opportunities, we just weren't able to capitalise, and I'm at fault for that as well, and I think that's something that Australia really prides itself on.<\/p>\n

"We kind of let ourselves down in that regard. So, that's probably why it's disappointing.<\/p>\n

\"India's<\/p>\n

"It felt a little bit similar to this time last year [at the T20 World Cup], sort of going out playing, you know, not the way that we wanted to play.<\/p>\n

"So, we'll learn from that, we'll grow, and I think our one-day cricket<\/a> will hopefully improve since."<\/p>\n

Asked if she would return for the next ODI World Cup in four years, Healy confirmed she would not be participating.<\/p>\n

"I won't be there," she said.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old expressed optimism for the team's future, anticipating a period of significant change in Australia's long-format game.<\/p>\n

"That's the beauty of this next cycle, we're going to see that unfold," she said.<\/p>\n

"Obviously, there's a T20 World Cup in the middle of next year, which is really exciting for our group. But I think our one-day cricket is probably going to shift a little bit again.<\/p>\n

"The opportunity for some young players to get greater opportunities in this side is a really exciting thing for Australian cricket."<\/p>\n

Superstar Ellyse Perry, 34, is also facing speculation that she may have played her last ODI World Cup match.<\/p>\n

Healy pointed to rising stars like Phoebe Litchfield<\/a>, who finished the game with 119 runs, as strong reasons for Australian fans to remain hopeful.<\/p>\n

"When you've seen players my age walk away from the game, it's kind of a weird experience to stand there and watch the next generation go about it," she said.<\/p>\n

"I thought Phoebe was sensational today, set us off really nicely at the top and then went on to make a hundred, which I thought was really crucial.<\/p>\n

"Kudos to her. It's been fun to watch her unfold, and I think the next four years leading into the next ODI World Cup are going to be really exciting to watch."<\/p>\n

Litchfield hits World Cup record with 77-ball ton<\/h3>\n

Litchfield made tournament history against India, celebrating her achievement with a beaming smile after hitting the fastest hundred in a World Cup knockout match.<\/p>\n

The young batter brought up her ton off just 77 balls with a boundary before grinning from ear to ear with her family watching in the crowd.<\/p>\n

It was her first World Cup hundred\ufeff, her second against India and third overall.<\/p>\n

"A semi-final knock of the highest class\ufeff, this 22-year-old from Orange in NSW," Ian Bishop said on Amazon's coverage.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Healy made her much-anticipated return from injury<\/a> and was given an almost immediate reprieve by her Indian counterpart.<\/p>\n

After winning the toss \ufeffand electing to bat, Healy watched her opening partner Litchfield motor to eight runs off seven deliveries.<\/p>\n

Renuka Singh Thakur then came in to bowl at Healy, who was on two, and forced a mistimed off-drive that was hit in the air.<\/p>\n

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur was at mid-off and had her body side-on to the ball, which sat perfectly at chest height.<\/p>\n

\ufeffKaur went too hard with her hands, allowing the ball to juggle out behind her.<\/p>\n

To make the drop even more dramatic, Kaur's follow-through meant she ran at least three metres before falling over.<\/p>\n

"She made all the ground, did all the hard work, and I thought she had it for a moment," Bishop said on commentary before noting "the ground went silent" in Navi Mumbai.<\/p>\n

Healy barely gave a reaction, offering a steely look. \ufeff<\/p>\n

But India's \ufeffKranti Goud rectified her captain's mistake in the sixth over, bowling Healy, who chopped the ball on for five.<\/p>\n

Healy, Australia's wicketkeeper batter, \ufeffstarted the tournament in style with two centuries before missing the last two group matches with a calf injury. These included a world-record chase of 330 against India<\/a>, followed by reeling in 198 against Bangladesh<\/a> in under 25 overs with all wickets in tact.<\/p>\n

After Healy's dismissal, the covers came on for the rain at 1-25. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Play resumed quickly after, and Australia looked like they'd be in trouble when veteran Perry was given out lbw.<\/p>\n

Litchfield quickly ran down and told her to review, which brought a not out verdict.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old then marched towards her century while Perry went along steadily at the other end.\ufeff<\/p>\n
