Adam Reynolds<\/a> may only have one year remaining on his deal at the Brisbane Broncos<\/a>, but that does not necessarily mean he will hang up the boots in 2026.<\/p>\n

The veteran playmaker has \ufeffnot shied away from admitting he is nearing the end of his career, with many greats of the game predicting next season would be his last.<\/p>\n

A number of factors including the availability of a contract, his overall fitness and mentality would all come into play for Reynolds when making a call on his career.<\/p>\n

But the signing of one young talent stuck in the Melbourne ranks has put many on alert.<\/p>\n

Jonah Pezet<\/a> has been stuck behind Jahrome Hughes and Cameron Munster in the ranks at the Storm, but manager Braith Anasta secured a dual-club move for his client's future<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old will spend the 2026 season in Parramatta colours before he moves up north to join the reigning champions, the Broncos, in 2027.<\/p>\n

The deal sets Pezet up to step into the halves to replace Reynolds, who admitted there is no doubting that the playmaker will "feature heavily" for Brisbane in the future.<\/p>\n

But even though a premiership win is the goal for all in the game, that trophy will not influence whether Reynolds continues on or decides to hang up the boots<\/p>\n

"Every year \ufeffthat we take to the field, we go out there (hoping) to win the grand final.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffThis year will be no different. The goal will stay the same.<\/p>\n

"We'll make a decision on the future later down the track."<\/p>\n

Reynolds then revealed he has no exact timeline for when a retirement call will be made. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"I haven't made my mind up yet," the halfback said.<\/p>\n

"There is still a year to play football. I am a year older and getting closer to the end – I don't know when that will be.<\/p>\n

"We will see how the body holds up and how the mind is, then make a decision later on throughout the season."<\/p>\n

With a spot at the Broncos potentially not available for Reynolds in the future, a move back to his former team, the Rabbitohs<\/a>, could be a heartwarming ending to his career.<\/p>\n

Asked if the door is still ajar for that type of move, Reynolds gave a simple response. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"You never know, mate. You never know," he laughed.<\/p>\n
