Chris Wood is confident the wins will start coming "sooner rather than later" as Ange Postecoglou<\/a> continues the hunt for his first Nottingham Forest<\/a> victory.<\/p>\n

It's very early days but pressure is already building on the Australian manager to deliver a result \ufeffafter taking the reins of the ambitious Premier League club last month.<\/p>\n

Postecoglou opened his Forest tenure with a 3-0 Premier League loss to Arsenal before Championship club Swansea City knocked him out of the EFL Cup with a 3-2 upset.<\/p>\n

Football's<\/strong><\/em> new home, Stan Sport<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, is the only place to watch the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, WSL, European World Cup qualifiers, J.League, NSWL and K League<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"Ange<\/p>\n

\ufeffDraws with Burnley (1-1) in the Premier League and Real Betis (2-2) in the Europa League have followed before a 1-0 loss to Sunderland.<\/p>\n

Postecoglou, who won the Europa League \ufeffwith Tottenham Hotspur last season, will go again in Europe on Friday (AEST) as Forest host Denmark champions Midtjylland at the City Ground.<\/p>\n

"It's actually clicked rather quickly," Forest's Kiwi star Wood told Adam Peacock in an exclusive interview for Stan Sport.<\/p>\n

\"Chris<\/p>\n

"It's a different playing style to what we were under (former manager) Nuno so it's a big change for the players to get on board with.<\/p>\n

"But I think everybody has bought into it, and believed in the process that he's trying to do, the ideas he's putting out, which is fantastic.<\/p>\n

"And it's shown in games that we're dominating the ball more, we're creating more chances. We're doing extremely well, but we just have to get those wins to add to it, and I'm sure they'll come sooner rather than later. I think his ideas are there, and I think he's happy enough without the results coming.<\/p>\n

"So now we're just going to put it all together."<\/p>\n

Forest claimed back-to-back European Cups – now the Champions League – in 1979-80 under legendary manager Brian Clough.<\/p>\n

Wood loved that Postecoglou had a similar vision to aim high and achieve the extraordinary.<\/p>\n

"His belief, his determination to achieve big things – I think everybody knows he's been a winner in his whole career," Wood said.<\/p>\n

"He's won trophies, won things, and that's the way he believes in football. He's been a big manager… we've got a sense of belief in this the squad – and make us into a team that's highly recognisable at the top half of the table in the Premier League for years to come…<\/p>\n

"It's intense, learning to play a style of football that's very athletic-based. We need to be conditioned right and, and work hard and intense."<\/p>\n

Peacock noted that Wood – now 33 – was something of a late bloomer, having scored 88 of his 91 Premier League goals after his 25th birthday.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Wood signed with West Bromwich Albion as a teenager and spent time on loan to six different clubs before joining Leicester City in 2013.<\/p>\n

He credits that time for stiffening his resolve as a professional.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I was at a Premier League club and I wasn't going to play, we needed a striker who was more established at the time, to try and keep the team in the league," Wood said.<\/p>\n

"I had to go and prove myself around the country at different leagues, throughout England and, just prove myself as a player.<\/p>\n

"And I think I learned something at every every loan club I went to, whether it was good or bad, the loan spell, I learned something and it's made me into the player I am today.<\/p>\n

\"Chris<\/p>\n

"I knew I'll always have a career with it at some level. It was just about which level can I get myself to and how high I can get myself.<\/p>\n

"All I've ever known is playing football and I was luckily enough at the age of 16 to be given the chance to make it fulltime and thankfully it's turned out to the career it has been. I don't know where I would be if it wasn't for football."<\/p>\n

As for the trans-Tasman rivalry in football?\ufeff<\/p>\n

"When you're over this side of the world, you stick together a bit. In the footballing world, the hatred is not there as much, I don't believe," Wood said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
