He hasn't played NRL but has led the Dragons NSW Cup team into the finals.<\/p>\n Along the way, he had 19 try assists and topped the running metres and line break assists in the entire competition.<\/p>\n Watch the 2025 NRL premiership live and free on Nine and<\/strong><\/em> 9Now<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n But rugby league is a tough gig and the Dragons have told Ramsey there is no place for him in 2026\u2026 although he may get a train and trial deal.<\/p>\n "We can't fault the club because they have been great to Cody since he was first diagnosed," Ramsey's manager George Gazal told Wide World of Sports.<\/p>\n "They kept paying him his NRL contract for the past two years and encouraged him to come back.<\/p>\n "But the game is a business and it seems they don't see a place for him next season\u2026 we get that.<\/p>\n "There has been some interest from other NRL clubs, from Super League and even (the breakaway) Rugby R360 competition so he has options.<\/p>\n "Cody fought so hard to get back\u2026 he's not about to give up now.<\/p>\n "He's got a NSW Cup finals match this weekend and when his season is over we will assess his options."<\/p>\n The Panthers<\/a> have picked up a classy outside back from the Wests Tigers for 2026.<\/p>\n Cameron Kanaan, a 20-year-old fullback, started the season in the Flegg Cup but got a taste of NSW Cup against grown men for Wests Magpies and didn't look out of place.<\/p>\n With Daine Laurie looking like he is moving on from Penrith, Kanaan could prove a handy back-up for Dylan Edwards in the State of Origin period next season – assuming Edwards retains his spot in the New South Wales team.<\/p>\n Elliott Whitehead<\/a> may have been born in Bradford in the UK, but he is a favourite son of the Canberra Raiders<\/a>.<\/p>\n And mail is the former Raiders captain, who spent nine seasons in the ACT, playing over 200 games for the Green Machine, is set to return to the nation's capital.<\/p>\n Whitehead moved to Catalans in France this year but managed just five games due to injury and at 36, hung up his boots two weeks ago.<\/p>\n The Raiders are looking at him to join the football staff and he would be a great influence on Ricky Stuart's young forwards if the move comes off.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
