Collingwood<\/a> legend Scott Pendlebury has signed a one-year contract extension to play an incredible 21st season with the Magpies in 2026.<\/p>\n

According to Nine's chief AFL<\/a> reporter Tom Morris, the club legend will join likely join fellow veterans Steele Sidebottom and Jeremy Howe, who are also nearing their own one-year extensions to remain in the black and white guernesy.\ufeff<\/p>\n

All three have been hugely important for the Magpies' top four run\ufeff this season, with Sidebottom winning the Anzac Medal. <\/p>\n

Pendlebury however will have the opportunity to potentially break the record for most games ever played in VFL\/AFL history in 2026.<\/p>\n

He currently sits just 12 games behind North Melbourne champion Brent Harvey, who played 432 games for the club.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"\ufeffThey've all agreed to terms to play on in 2026," Morris told 9News Melbourne.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffThese signatures are yet to be signed formally, but they could come as early as the next few days.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffPendlebury is currently on 420 matches and all things being equal, he will surpass Brent Harvey's record of 432 matches.<\/p>\n

"Brody Mihocek and Jamie Elliott are just waiting at the moment, they're free agents, and Mason Cox and Tom Mitchell have been asked to wait until the end of the year."<\/p>\n
