Cameron Munster<\/a> possibly becoming a Perth Bears<\/a> franchise player has been knocked on the head despite suggestions he could be the marquee man.<\/p>\n

Reports have festered that the Storm<\/a> would allow Munster to exit the last year of his contract in 2027 to only join Perth and make him the highest paid player in the game.<\/p>\n

However, 9news Sydney's Danny Weidler said on Nine's 100% Footy that the Storm are "bemused" by that suggestion.<\/p>\n

"The Storm have been pretty adamant about keeping players to their contracts," he added.<\/p>\n

Storm icon Cameron Smith described the potential for a Munster move as "scuttle".<\/p>\n

"Knowing Cam Munster and the type of person he is, I think he'd like to stick out his time in the NRL as a one-club player," he said.<\/p>\n

"He's built a great life down there in Melbourne \ufeffaround his football career, he's built a young family with his wife Bianca.<\/p>\n

"I know he's got a great relationship with \ufeffCraig Bellamy and also the chairman, Matt Tripp.<\/p>\n

"I really can't see him moving on and playing elsewhere. I know it'd be fairly enticing as a marquee player moving over to the west and the new franchise.<\/p>\n

"He's been coached by Mal Meninga as well at the Kangaroos and they get along great. I just can't see Cam moving away from the Melbourne Storm."<\/p>\n
