Harley Reid<\/a> could be set to receive "the biggest deal in AFL history" as crunch time looms on a contract decision.<\/p>\n

Reid, who was taken at No.1 in the 2023 draft, is contracted until the end of 2026 at the West Coast Eagles<\/a> and has become a man in demand.<\/p>\n

AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey reported on Nine's Footy Classified<\/em> that the Eagles have had a contract offer on the table since April for the 20-year-old.<\/p>\n

He said his management had responded with a counter-offer, which could tip the competition on its head.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"[It's] a mammoth offer that would be a two-year extension plus an extension on top of that of another nine years so an 11-year arrangement," Twomey said.<\/p>\n

"This is ground-breaking in what it would mean for the West Coast Eagles and Harley Reid … it would be the biggest deal in AFL history."<\/p>\n

It would mean Reid would be signed to West Coast until 2037 but the Eagles were yet to meet that demand.<\/p>\n

That means other clubs are still looking at Reid, with Sam Mitchell's Hawks side one of the contenders.<\/p>\n

"Hawthorn are near on obsessed with Harley Reid and getting him to the club\ufeff, they want him badly," Twomey said.<\/p>\n

"They are willing to go to eight-to-10 years at $1.7 million or $1.8 million to get him across the line."<\/p>\n

Reid has played 38 games for the Eagles since debuting in 2024.<\/p>\n

If the Eagles and Reid agreed to the deal tabled by his management it would mimic the one offered to Port Adelaide's \ufeffMiles Bergman.<\/p>\n
