Multiple WWE women took to social media this week to express their distaste for the amount of praise and attention Ronda Rousey garnered in the wake of the first-ever women\u2019s Royal Rumble. <\/p>\n

\u201cWonder what all the 30 other women candid thoughts were too? #firsteverwomensroyalrumble,\u201d Nikki Bella of the Bella Twins <\/p>\n

wrote on Twitter<\/a><\/p>\n

alongside a link to Rousey\u2019s post-Rumble interview. <\/p>\n

\u201cCool she\u2019s here \u2026 I guess 30 women making history can just be forgotten,\u201d Nia Jax, another wrestler, said in a tweet. <\/p>\n

Sunday\u2019s event was a watershed moment, the first Royal Rumble to include women. Yet soundbites from Rousey, the newcomer, have consumed fans and media. Consider the spotlight hogged. <\/p>\n

Rousey\u2019s presence, in general, took centre stage over the weekend. The retired UFC superstar not only made her pro wrestling debut during a historic match, but she also talked proudly of the honour afterwards, irking her peers. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt used to be, women would get laughed at at something like this,\u201d Rousey told the WWE. \u201cI\u2019ve gotten laughed out of gyms and brushed aside and not taken seriously in combat sports, (but) to walk into this arena and to see everyone give a standing ovation to the women\u2019s Royal Rumble, and how invested they are in it \u2014 it was just so well accepted by the fans and it wasn\u2019t forced on them, it was demanded by them.\u201d <\/p>\n
