According to The Guardian<\/a><\/p>\n , the retired sportsman appeared at Teesside crown court in England on Tuesday, when he insisted he had done \u201cnothing wrong\u201d as he entered his plea during a 10-minute hearing. <\/p>\n
The former England and Tottenham Hotspur star, 51, is accused of kissing a woman without her consent on board a train from York to Durham in August. <\/p>\n
His barrister, Michelle Heeley, told the court Gascoigne intends to produce character witnesses who will give evidence detailing his \u201cpropensity to kiss people in a non-sexual manner\u201d. <\/p>\n
After Judge Simon Bourne-Arton told him his trial would not take place before Oct. 14, the fallen soccer ace shouted, \u201cSir, Your Honour\u201d and was told to be quiet. <\/p>\n
The sporting superstar responded by saying, \u201cI\u2019m worried to bits. I\u2019m scared.\u201d <\/p>\n
He was granted unconditional bail and warned he must turn up for his trial, before kissing his fingers and gesturing to the judge as he left the courtroom. <\/p>\n
Gascoigne was arrested by British Transport Police officers at Durham station after leaving the train and was charged with one count of sexual assault by touching in November. <\/p>\n
