Wannabe MMA fighter Kirill Tereshin apparently lives by the motto of \u201csun\u2019s out, guns out,\u201d even on cloudy days. <\/p>\n

Tereshin, a 23-year-old former soldier and bodybuilder from Russia, goes by the handle Popeye due to his freakishly massive biceps, which measure an astounding 24 inches. <\/p>\n

But Tereshin didn\u2019t spend every waking moment in the gym, skipping leg days, to get the pumped up biceps that leave him looking a bit like the animated Popeye. They are the result of injecting Synthol, a dangerous but legal substance that causes muscles to swell artificially and causes pulmonary embolisms, nerve damage and infections. <\/p>\n

The massive arms didn\u2019t help Tereshin in his MMA debut against Oleg Mongol, a blogger and actor who is 20 years older than Popeye, at a gym in Abakan in the Republic of Khakassia of Russia. <\/p>\n

Tereshin was forced to tap out<\/a><\/p>\n

due to a choke three minutes into the first round. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s not the first time Tereshin has tried to earn a few rubles in combat sports, though. <\/p>\n

Earlier this year, he was beaten by a guy named \u2018The Dumpling\u2019 in a slapping contest \u2014 yes, a slapping contest \u2014 where he went by the name Bazooka Arms. Vasily Kamotskiy put down Tereshin with his first slap. <\/p>\n

Tereshin, something of an Internet celebrity in his homeland, said he stopped injecting Synthol in August after developing problems in his arms. Now he is trying to raise money to get treatment in the U.K. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy mom was very worried about what I was doing, but we are OK now that she knows Synthol can be removed,\u201d Tereshin said, according to the U.K. Sun. \u201cIn the beginning, I wanted to inject Synthol oil into other parts of my body, but then the problems started and I stopped using it. <\/p>\n

\u201cAt the moment, my arms are in a bad state.\u201d <\/p>\n
