After Pat Cummins won the toss and batted, a steadying opening partnership of 47 between Usman Khawaja and Sam Konstas was broken when the former was given out lbw.<\/p>\n

A 3-3 collapse followed, with Khawaja (15), Konstas (25) and Steve Smith (3) all part of it.<\/p>\n

Cameron Green (26) showed signs of improvement before he edged to gully while a sharp catch dismissed Travis Head<\/a> for 29 with the Aussies stranded at 5-110.<\/p>\n

Carey and Webster then combined for an important 112-run partnership to give Australia momentum.<\/p>\n

\ufeffCarey's fall on 63 took them to 6-222 before Webster was the second last wicket to fall when he was run out for 60.<\/p>\n

Australia was then bowled out for 286, Nathan Lyon (11) edged behind off Alzarri Joseph who had the best figures of 4-61.<\/p>\n

\ufeffOn a day that included rain delays, the West Indies went out to the pitch in Grenada ready to bat for 20 minutes before stumps.<\/p>\n

However, the umpires pulled out their metres and judged the light was not good enough for play, bringing an end to day one.<\/p>\n
