G\ufeffold Coast Suns<\/a> forward Ben King has escaped any punishment for a hit that resulted in Lachie Whitfield leaving the field during the Giants' seven-point win in Sydney<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the ninth minute, a kick back from Toby Bedford went over the head of Whitfield \ufeffwho had to chase behind him as King came from the other way.<\/p>\n

Whitfield was helped up by his teammates with Gerard Healy happy with the contact.<\/p>\n

"Absolutely perfect technique, that was great," he said on Fox's coverage. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Whitfield stayed on the field until two minutes left in the quarter as he headed into the sheds with medical staff.<\/p>\n

\ufeffAt quarter time, Alastair Lynch argued King was "trying to protect the ball with his body and hit Lachie Whitfield at the same time".<\/p>\n

Brad Johnson added: "Just one of those unlucky ones where the ball kept dribbling away from Lachie Whitfield … they're difficult ones because he can't shape his body to protect himself".<\/p>\n

However, David King saw it differently.<\/p>\n

"I think he'll have a case to answer," he said.<\/p>\n

"I think if you have a look at the angle from the boundary, he goes past the ball to make contact."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Ultimately he was wrong, with the Suns forward not featuring in the match review officer's report.<\/p>\n

\ufeffKing's teammate, Matt Rowell, wasn't so lucky after he was hit with a $3,125 fine for careless contact with an umpire. It's his fourth offence.<\/p>\n

Toby Greene copped the same punishment, and was fined $1,875.<\/p>\n
