Dermott Brereton's step-son \ufeffArcher May<\/a> has found his home after he was selected in the AFL's mid-season draft.<\/p>\n

Collingwood was linked to May but the club didn't have a pick until No.8.<\/p>\n

Instead, Essendon swooped and snapped him up at pick 6. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Earlier in the week, May had praised the impact Brereton has had on his development.<\/p>\n

"Obviously it's a lot of hard work and sacrifices that go into the journey. I think it's about proving the people close to me right," May told 9News Melbourne on Monday.<\/p>\n

"Dermott has been massive in my development. Especially in the last few years as I took football more seriously."\ufeff<\/strong><\/p>\n

As expected, West Coast took Tom McCarthy at pick 1. \ufeff<\/p>\n
