Wallabies great Matt Burke believes Taniela Tupou<\/a> would've been "yelled at" by his Waratahs coach Dan McKellar after an act described as a "brain explosion".<\/p>\n

Early in the second half against the Western Force, Tupou was given a 10-minute break when he was yellow carded for a trip \ufeffon Hamish Stewart<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At the time the Force led 17-14, \ufeffand luckily for Tupou there were no tries conceded. The Waratahs went on to win 22-17.<\/p>\n

Despite the result, Burke predicted a fiery reaction from McKellar.<\/p>\n

"I reckon he would've got yelled at \ufeffby the coach for sure. You talk about the situation specific, he then puts his teammates under pressure for 10 minutes," he said on Stan Sport's Between Two Posts<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"His contribution in the game wasn't massive anyhow, he had a couple of scrums then had time off and went back on again. It was a brain explosion and you just wonder what goes through his head in that space."<\/p>\n

Fellow former Wallaby Morgan Turinui was equally shocked.<\/p>\n

Turinui agreed Tupou's act isn't part of his character, merely putting it down to his "desperation to stop a line break", but admitted it was "like a glitch".<\/p>\n

"I\ufefft's one of the more bizarre things I've ever seen," he said.<\/p>\n

"There's a trip where you're trying to get both hands on a player and use your legs to bring down a player, Alfie Langer style but that's just an absolute, under fatigue, brain snap.<\/p>\n

"I don't think there's anything else you can say about that, it's just such a strange thing to see.<\/p>\n
