Adelaide<\/a> great Rory Sloane<\/a>\ufeff doesn't believe any future player will surpass Collingwood<\/a> star Jack Crisp as he breaks the consecutive AFL<\/a> games record this week.<\/p>\n

Crisp is set to notch up his 245th game in a row, surpassing Melbourne<\/a> legend Jim Stynes' record of 244.<\/p>\n

\ufeffSloane, who played 255 games for the Crows, lauded the achievement as something truly special.<\/p>\n

"No one will ever break that, for sure," Sloane told Nine's Footy Classified<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"That is an unbelievable achievement. I still don't know how he has done it because with corkies, hamstring injuries, soft tissue injuries, selection, to avoid all of those, it is an incredible achievement.<\/p>\n

Crisp's remarkable streak began in 2014 at Brisbane<\/a>, playing the final six games of the home-and-away season, before he was traded to Collingwood as part of the Dayne Beams deal.<\/p>\n

He has played 238 consecutive games for the Magpies, having not missed selection once since arriving at the club in 2015.<\/p>\n

He won the club's best and fairest award in 2021 and 2022, was a member of the 2023 premiership side and became a life member of the Pies in 2024.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\"Jim<\/p>\n

\ufeffFormer Collingwood president Eddie McGuire, however, is less certain that his streak will last forever.<\/p>\n

"Yes it will (be broken)," McGuire said.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Somebody will break it.\ufeff We were lucky enough to sit on this set with Jim (Stynes) when he broke it.<\/p>\n

"They play until they're 70 now\ufeff."<\/p>\n

Sloane believes there are too many factors in the modern game, including the low threshold for suspensions, and can't see anyone reaching Crisp's record.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI think the game is too fast now that your body will break at some point," Sloane said.<\/p>\n

"Imagine if (Crisp) got rubbed out for three weeks (by the MRO)\ufeff with a tackle like (Paul Curtis'<\/a>)."<\/p>\n
