But he soon returned to the field and was able to play out the rest of the match.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"a7abe4f9-7f93-421b-a017-3bde4c479820\" src=\"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/a7abe4f9-7f93-421b-a017-3bde4c479820-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"The Hawks&#x27; Mabior Chol and the Swans&#x27; Brodie Grundy contest a mark. \" data-width=\"4153\" data-height=\"2336\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Picking up where he left off last season, All Australian forward Moore quickly scored his second before Day gave Hawthorn a one-goal lead at quarter time.<\/p>\n<p>As the pace slowed in the second term, goals were much harder to come by.\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>Amertey added his second major before the Swans&#x27; skills stalled.<\/p>\n<p>As Hawthorn went on a run of four unanswered goals, Lloyd Meek grabbed his second after benefitting from a 50-metre penalty when a mark was knocked out of hands.<\/p>\n<p>Day finished the first half with 19 disposals, five clearances and three goals as the Hawks led by 20 points at the main break.<\/p>\n<p>In a blow to Hawthorns&#x27; midfield, James Worpel limped off with a right ankle injury\ufeff late in the second quarter and was subbed out of the match at half time.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"4c2d1d64-6c1f-40a9-b4ee-ec569acea106\" src=\"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/4c2d1d64-6c1f-40a9-b4ee-ec569acea106\" alt=\"Will Day celebrates a goal with Hawthorn teammate James Worpel.\" data-width=\"2362\" data-height=\"1329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Physicality between the teams intensified in the second half, and Sydney responded as Amertey and Warner combined for consecutive goals.<\/p>\n<p>This seemed to spark the Swans when Tom McCartin \u2014 in his transition forward \u2014 scored his first goal in four years.<\/p>\n<p>As rain began to lash the SCG, Sydney unleashed debutant\ufeff Tom Hanily as Angus Sheldrick was subbed out (tactical).<\/p>\n<p>After staging a third-term resurgence, the hosts\ufeff trailed by five points with one quarter to play.<\/p>\n<p>Sydney peppered the goals\ufeff but failed to make an impact as Sicily sealed the match after being swung forward.<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the Swans&#x27; woes, Taylor Adams exited the game late with a hamstring complaint. \ufeff<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>The Hawks are o\ufeffff and running in season 2025, defeating the Swans by 20 points at the SCG on Friday night.
