Broncos young star Xavier Coates was forced to leave the field after landing awkwardly on his neck following a spectacular try in the corner during his side's clash with the Parramatta Eels<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Coates found himself on the end of a brilliant cut-out pass from playmaker Anthony Milford, which gave him the open space to run in and leap into the corner for a try.<\/p>\n

But the 20-year-old's effort was contested by Eels fullback Clint Gutherson, who made contact with Coates, which resulted in him landing on his neck moments after placing the ball down.<\/p>\n

The winger struggled to get up off the turf and was eventually sent for an HIA.<\/p>\n

"We've had an almighty faceplant," Roosters legend Brad Fittler told Nine.<\/p>\n

"It was an incredible, spectacular one-handed leap into the sky and he's come down flush on his face.<\/p>\n

Nine commentator Peter Psaltis added: "<\/em>That hurts just watching it. He's in a fair bit of pain Xaiver Coates."<\/p>\n

According to Nine's sideline reporter, Danika Mason, Coates suffered a concussion and even struggled to make his way back to the changerooms. <\/p>\n

"Xavier Coates has injured his neck and has suffered a concussion," Mason said.<\/p>\n

"He was on the verge of being physically ill as he walked past the sidelines."<\/p>\n

Coates was later taken to the hospital in an ambulance. <\/p>\n
