Magic Round has become a\ufeff staple of the NRL<\/a> calendar and in 2025 it will light up the NRLW<\/a> as the women's competition stages the marquee round for the first time in history.<\/p>\n

The NRL announced on Tuesday morning that a Magic Round would be held at Newcastle's McDonald Jones Stadium across two dates yet to be revealed.<\/p>\n

The Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) signed a three-year deal with the NSW government which will see an NRLW Magic Round played in regional locations.<\/p>\n

ARLC chairman Peter V'landys said it was "wonderful" to introduce "one of the great success stories for the game" to the women's competition.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"The commission is invested in women's rugby league and NRLW Magic Round is the next important step in the growth of the game," V'landys said.<\/p>\n

"All 12 teams will play across two days in Newcastle, with all the innovation and excitement of Magic Round but now with our best female players.<\/p>\n

"I'd like to thank the NSW government for their investment in women's sport. Importantly, this is an investment which will directly support pathways in rugby league while also driving economic growth and prosperity in regional NSW."<\/p>\n

Magic Round was introduced to the NRL in 2019 and is held at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium every year.<\/p>\n
