K\ufeffylie Hilder<\/a> has stepped down from her role as NSW women's coach after four years in charge at State of Origin<\/a> level.<\/p>\n

Since taking over the position in 2021, Hilder had overseen a major growth in the women's game and led the Sky Blues to a series win in 2022.<\/p>\n

However, after two-straight defeats at the hands of Queensland, the coach admitted it was time to move in a new direction.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"I felt it was time for a change for the team, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and privilege of coaching the NSW women's Origin team," Hilder said.<\/p>\n

\"Blues<\/p>\n

"I take a lot of pride in the contribution I have been able to make in that short time.<\/p>\n

"To see women's Origin grow from one game when I started coaching to a three-game series this year is a monumental achievement for the game and speaks volumes about the incredible talent pool in the women's ranks.<\/p>\n

"It also says a lot about the work that is being done at NSWRL in our pathways programs to develop genuine player depth at all levels, preparing them for NRLW and Origin."<\/p>\n

The 48-year-old is a true pioneer of women's rugby league, representing both NSW and Australia during her playing career before moving into coaching.<\/p>\n

NSWRL chief executive Dave Trodden paid tribute to the departing coach.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"History will recognise the pivotal contribution which Kylie has made to our game as a player, coach and pathways administrator at one of the most important times in the development of the women's game," he said.<\/p>\n

"Our organisation owes her a great debt and her contribution will continue to deliver benefits to the game in her role as female pathways manager."<\/p>\n
