Australian opener Marcus Harris<\/a> has been suspended for Victoria's Marsh Cup match against Tasmania tomorrow, after accepting a charge of abuse of equipment.<\/p>\n

Harris was found guilty of the Level 1 offence arising from the just-completed Sheffield Shield match at the MCG, also against Tasmania.<\/p>\n

He accepted a penalty of one suspension point and 50 per cent of his match fee. It was his second offence in an 18 month period.<\/p>\n

It means he'll be forced to sit out the 50-over match against Tasmania at the Junction Oval tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Harris made 15 and 45 not out in the Shield match, continuing a mediocre summer for the left-hander.<\/p>\n

Recalled to the Test team for the final match of the summer against India<\/a>, he made five and 38 at the Gabba.<\/p>\n

He's now gone 13 consecutive innings without reaching 50, although in 11 of those he's reached double figures.<\/p>\n

Victoria has named an inexperienced line-up for tomorrow's match, with seven of the 12-man squad yet to celebrate their 22nd birthdays.<\/p>\n

With Harris suspended, Victoria has also omitted bowlers James Pattinson, Will Sutherland and Jon Holland ahead of a busy month that includes four one-day matches and three Sheffield Shield games.<\/p>\n

"With such a busy schedule we're taking the opportunity to rest some of the players who have carried a heavy load in our recent Shield games," Victorian Chairman of Selectors Andrew Lynch said.<\/p>\n

"This also provides an opportunity for some of the younger players within the squad and we're looking forward to seeing what they can produce on Wednesday."<\/p>\n
