If grand finals are all about superstitions, then Brisbane<\/a> co-captains Harris Andrews and Lachie Neale<\/a> are true believers.<\/p>\n

The pair have been here before.<\/p>\n

Just 12 months ago, they went down to Collingwood by a heartbreaking four points in the 2023 grand final<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This year, the pair have switched up a largely unnoticed \ufefftradition that may get them over the line against Sydney on Saturday afternoon at the MCG.<\/p>\n

In the 2023 grand final, the captains agreed that Neale would toss the coin, while Andrews would be the one to hold the cup aloft should they win.<\/p>\n

But considering their loss, Neale and Andrews have made the bold call to change up their routine for their shot at 2024 glory.<\/p>\n

"We worked on that last year. I'll go out and do the coin toss. Lach will hold the cup up if we win," Andrews said on Nine's grand final footy show on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

"It was vice-versa last year\ufeff.<\/p>\n

"I'll just be so excited for him (Neale) and obviously us as a club if he's able to get up there on Saturday afternoon.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

As for how the Lions are feeling \ufeffafter landing in Melbourne mid week, the club is embracing their Fitzroy tradition<\/p>\n

"We've got such a great supporter base down here, the old Roy boys," Andrews said.<\/p>\n

"We certainly want to keep that nicely part of our football club and we're grateful for the support.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

The Lions have a genuine shot over Sydney, with bragging rights form their round 19 clash this season.<\/p>\n
