Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> overcame a eighth minute red card to Radu Dragusin to make a winning start to their Europa League<\/a> campaign on Friday (AEST).<\/p>\n

Romanian \ufeffcentre back Dragusin was sent off for a clumsy challenge on Qarabag's Juninho outside of the Spurs penalty area with the score at 0-0.<\/p>\n

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou<\/a> gave \ufeffDragusin a frosty handshake as he left the field of play but going down to 10 men didn't affect the London club.<\/p>\n

Fenerbahce opened the competition with a 2-1 home win over Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise with both teams finishing the game with 10 men.<\/p>\n

Defender \u00c7aglar Soyuncu opened the scoring for Jose Mourinho's team in the 26th with a half-volley from close range and Christian Burgess' own goal in the 82nd made it 2-0 for Fenerbahce.<\/p>\n

Ross Sykes scored in stoppage time for the visitors.<\/p>\n
