An apologetic \ufeffLatrell Mitchell<\/a> has taken to social media to address his actions after fronting the South Sydney<\/a> board on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

The embattled Bunnies fullback departed Rabbitohs headquarters smiling from ear to ear having just finished pleading his case to the club board at Heffron Park in Maroubra.<\/p>\n

Rabbitohs powerbrokers are now weighing up a penalty for the superstar, who is earning about $1.2 million a season on his NRL deal alone.<\/p>\n

"Sometimes in life you make poor decisions and I have accepted that I as a man, a family man, club man want to do better," Mitchell wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI can take this time now to move forward look ahead and continue on being the best version of myself.<\/p>\n

"Love to all that has supported me through this. Very grateful."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Mitchell was hit with a breach notice by the governing body a fortnight ago after images emerged of him leaning over a table \ufeffwith what appeared to be a white substance on it.<\/p>\n

The vision was purportedly taken in a Dubbo hotel room while Mitchell was there appearing at a weekend junior carnival.<\/p>\n

The NRL has banned Mitchell for one game<\/a>, but South Sydney is reportedly set to hand down a significant monetary fine on top of that.<\/p>\n

\ufeffBut if Mitchell is worried, he wasn't showing it as he strolled through a media scrum on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

"We will leave it with the board and go from there," Mitchell said with a smile.<\/p>\n

"I just had a good yarn to them. I'll leave it with them and get home to my family now.<\/p>\n

"To be honest I don't really know (what I was doing in the photo), we will just leave it there."<\/p>\n

About an hour after he left there, Mitchell was seen at the No Limit Boxing weigh-ins at Sydney's ICC with his agent Matt Rose.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Mitchell is still only 27 years old but has had a more storied rugby league career than most would dream of.<\/p>\n

He won two premierships at the Roosters before jumping ship to their bitter Sydney rivals, where he was handed the No.1 jersey he desired.<\/p>\n

He made a triumphant State of Origin return this year to help New South Wales pummel Queensland in Melbourne, before missing game three through injury as the Blues reclaimed the shield.<\/p>\n

The Rabbitohs have struggled in his absence since a foot injury ended his season prematurely.\ufeff<\/p>\n
