There may be a new look to one California football prep powerhouse, but that hasn’t changed to outlook around St. John Bosco Prep. The expectations haven’t changed around the program either, with the program once again ranked in the USA TODAY High School Sports Super 25.<\/p>\n
Head coach Jason Negro believes that the players on his St. John Bosco (Bellflower, California) team may change, but their purpose and direction doesn’t.<\/p>\n
In the USA Sports Super 25 football rankings<\/a>, St. John Bosco is ranked fifth in the nation. With an 11-2 record last year, they finished eighth nationally in the final rankings<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Well, I think the standard has been set. I’ve been here now, this is my fifteenth year so everybody understands who we are, what we’re all about and what we’re trying to accomplish,” Negro told the Long Beach Post Telegram<\/a>.<\/p>\n “The goals are not going to change regardless of who is here, who is not here. We’ve had kids come in and out of the program through my 15 years here but the standard is always going to be the same. We want to win a Trinity League title, have an opportunity to win a CIF Southern section Division I title, a division state title and throw our hat in the ring for a national title. I certainly believe that we have put together a schedule that is going to give us an opportunity to do that.<\/p>\n “And then we’re going to have to take each game with the utmost importance and come out and try to be victorious.
