NRL veteran Benji Marshall has knocked back a monster offer from Hull FC<\/a> which would've made him one of the highest-paid players in the English Super League.<\/p>\n

After Hull signed Marshall's former Tigers premiership teammate Brett Hodgson to become their new head coach, a monster one-year deal found its way through to Marshall's camp.<\/p>\n

The English Super League club reportedly offered the Tigers legend an offer for 2021 believed to be in the vicinity of \u00a3400,000 ($722,000AUD) before the Marshall knocked it back according to NRL.com.<\/em><\/p>\n

It's understood Marshall's preference is to remain in Australia and continue playing in the NRL.<\/p>\n

North Queensland and Cronulla had shown interest in offering the 324-game veteran one-year deals<\/a> but both clubs since moved on.<\/p>\n

Another potential suitor could be the Bulldogs, where the 2005 premiership star could link-up with his young brother, Jeremy Marshall-King.<\/p>\n

It's understood Marshall as an option for Canterbury if recruit Matt Burton does not gain a release from Penrith to play for the Bulldogs next year.<\/p>\n

Burton has signed on to play at Belmore from 2022<\/a> but coach Bulldogs Trent Barrett is hoping to organise an early release.<\/p>\n

"We're definitely not done and dusted. We've got three spots still available and obviously one will be held for Matt Burton if we can try and do a deal and get him out early but the other two spots, we have a very clear idea of what we need and who we need to go after," Barrett told SEN.<\/p>\n
