W\ufeffest Coast Eagles<\/a> veteran Andrew Gaff<\/a> has confirmed that 2024 will be his final season in the AFL.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old will hang up the boots after the Eagles' final home game of the season in round 23 against Carlton at Optus Stadium.<\/p>\n

Gaff, who missed out on the Eagles' 2018 premiership after being suspended for eight weeks after striking Fremantle's Andrew Brayshaw during a derby match, was drafted with the fourth pick in the 2010 draft.<\/p>\n

The 2015 and 2018 All-Australian has been managing \ufeffan ankle injury since last season, which has restricted his game time.<\/p>\n

Eagles' footy boss Gavin Bell expressed his gratitude to Gaff.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It will be sad to see one of our great players end his career, but Andrew leaves a lasting legacy," Bell said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

"He is highly respected across the football club, not just within the playing group and the football department.<\/p>\n

Bell also confirmed the club would celebrate Gaff's 12 years at the Eagles over the next two weeks.<\/p>\n

"Andrew has been an amazing contributor to our club for a decade and a half and we will take the opportunity to appropriately acknowledge him in the next two weeks," Bell said.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Gaff becomes the third AFL player to hang up the boots in two days, following legendary Geelong forward Tom Hawkins<\/a> and star Richmond midfielder Dustin Martin<\/a> announcing their retirements on Tuesday.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffHe will finish on 280 games, after playing in round 22 and round 23.<\/p>\n
