After becoming just the 15th Indigenous man to represent the Wallabies, Dylan Pietsch<\/a> \ufeffwants to play a key role in helping double that "pretty poor" number.<\/p>\n

The NSW winger and proud \ufeffWiradjuri man made his Test debut off the bench in Australia's 25-16 win over Wales in Sydney on Saturday.<\/a><\/p>\n

Pietsch has been retained on Joe Schmidt's bench<\/a> for this weekend's rematch in Melbourne and Australia will wear their First Nations jerseys in recognition of NAIDOC week.<\/p>\n

Rugby Australia's First Nations cultural advisor Dean Duncan also spoke to the Wallabies about the significance of the week.<\/p>\n

Duncan gifted didgeridoos to coach Schmidt and captain Liam Wright and painted Pietsch's face with ochre.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIt's a huge achievement," Duncan told Pietsch and the team.<\/p>\n

"We need to make sure that we are warriors\ufeff as one, as a nation and as a Wallabies team.\ufeff We are one nation, we are not Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander \ufeffpeople and the rest of Australia. You guys represent the whole of Australia and that's something to be immensely proud about.<\/p>\n

"We are a diverse country and we are coming together as one. And you guys are the epitome of that.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

"I've had the 15th Indigenous Wallaby \u2013 that's been a goal of mine \u2013 sitting next to my bedside table for the past three years. So to achieve that, yeah it's insane," Pietsch told The Age.<\/a><\/p>\n

"I think we kind of missed the jump probably early on, we had the Ella brothers, obviously they kind of created a big thing for rugby…<\/p>\n
