The New South Wales squad took a trip to URBNSURF at Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday as they prepare for next week's series decider.<\/p>\n

\ufeffWhile most of the players were being briefed by instructors before jumping in for a surf, Luai grabbed a boogey board and took matters into his own hands.<\/p>\n

The larrikin five-eighth instantly regretted the decision, and had to be thrown a lifeline by a staffer standing on the edge of the pool.<\/p>\n

His Blues teammates were in hysterics as Luai was dragged back to the shallows.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Cowabunga dude, I think my life flashed before my eyes," Luai joked afterwards.<\/p>\n

"I almost died out there, I'm grateful to be alive.<\/p>\n
