Gold Coast Suns<\/a> coach Damien Hardwick<\/a> has made his frustrations clear with his side's loss to North Melbourne<\/a>, dropping an expletive in his post-match press conference.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe Kangaroos recorded their second win of the season with a 13.9 (87) to 12.11 (83)<\/a> scoreline, managing to comeback from a 12-point deficit after the first quarter.<\/p>\n

Post-game, Hardwick was stinging in his criticism of his players.<\/p>\n

"I\ufefft hurts it certainly hurts, we've just got to grow up as a footy club to be perfectly frank," he said.<\/p>\n

"We sit there and give ourselves enough opportunities but we just don't play our moments and it's my job as a coach to sit there and demand better.<\/p>\n

"I'm angry to be fair and as a footy club we've got to grow the f–k u\ufeffp to be perfectly honest, excuse the language.<\/p>\n

"We've been in this situation too many times so it's up to me and the match committee to get our boys going."<\/p>\n

The loss at Marvel Stadium made it eight losses and a draw for Hardwick at the venue since 2021.<\/p>\n

Gold Coast were a chance of sneaking into the top eight if they were to pull off a win with Ben Ainsworth a chance of slotting home the winner late.<\/p>\n

His shot missed, delivering an unlikely win for the Kangaroos.<\/p>\n

Hardwick went on to criticise his side's attitude, having lost the clearances 45-29 while also allowing North Melbourne to kick the opening three goals in the first quarter. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"At the end of the day you put on a Suns \ufeffjumper you've got to play the game a certain way, you don't get to pick and choose," he said.<\/p>\n

"At the moment we're not where we need to be, it's reflective of me as a coach and our organisation as well.<\/p>\n

"At the end of the day we've got to demand better, we're not just hear to make up numbers, enough's enough, we've got to sit there, dig deep and double down on what we're doing \ufeffand get the result we're after.<\/p>\n

"We need to forge our way into finals, we've been well short of that and this is a disappointing result. Once again, full credit to North Melbourne, they were too good today but we've got to find a way to get through that storm because at the moment we're just short."<\/p>\n
