Alex de Minaur<\/a> is through to his second Wimbledon<\/a> fourth round without so much as hitting a ball in the third.<\/p>\n

He was granted a walkover after his opponent, French qualifier and former world No.10, Lucas Pouille was forced to pull out of their third-round clash with an abdominal injury.<\/p>\n

It matches his career-best Wimbledon showing from 2022, and will see him rise to at least world No.6 when the rankings are recalculated after the tournament.<\/p>\n

With 74 career grand slam singles matches to his name, this is the first time de Minaur \ufeffhas received a walkover.<\/p>\n

Pouille was himself gifted passage into the third round after Thanasi Kokkinakis was forced to retire from their second round match \ufeffin the third set.<\/p>\n

De Minaur will next face either Arthur Fils or Roman Safiullin, who are scheduled to play on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
