Canterbury Bulldogs<\/a> star Matt Burton<\/a> has hit a match-winning field goal for the second week in a row after a stunning golden point 13-12 victory over the Warriors<\/a>. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Burton had two attempts prior to his clutch moment and slotted the field goal by hitting the upright, exactly the same as last week against the Sharks<\/a>. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"Ice in his veins," Steve 'Blocker' Roach said on Fox League.<\/p>\n

It was a chaotic match for the Warriors, who lost their back three throughout the match.<\/p>\n

The first injury blow was to \ufefffullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad who was ruled out during the first half.<\/p>\n

The fullback left the field in the 39th minute, struggling to walk without a limp. Prior to the second half, Nicoll-Klokstad was captured with ice on his calf with confirmation he will be sent for scans for a strain.<\/p>\n

Coach Andrew Webster's agony continued when Dallin Watene-Zelezniak failed an HIA early in the second half. Winger Marcelo Montoya then left in the 63rd minute with an injury, meaning Kurt Capewell had to shift to one wing.<\/p>\n

"They're in all sorts here," league great Corey Parker said on Fox League. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The match started with Canterbury going ahead through Bronson Xerri in the 19th minute.<\/p>\n

However, the Warriors hit back twice in the following eight minutes with Watene-Zelezniak and Montoya scoring. The Warriors led 12-6 at half-time. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Scores were then even in the 54th minute when Viliame Kikau grabbed his first of the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Canterbury lost their own player in the 73rd minute when Jaeman Salmon had to leave the field with blood pouring from his mouth.<\/p>\n

Salmon put pressure on Warriors halfback Te Maire Martin and collected him in the head, however the referee and Bunker deemed the contact fine.<\/p>\n

Parker wasn't impressed.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffHow is that cleared? There is contact with the head after the ball had been passed," he said.<\/p>\n

The field goal chaos then begun when Burton missed a field goal from right in front with four minutes left.<\/p>\n

At 12-12 the game went to golden point.<\/p>\n

Chanel Harris-Tavita had the first attempt in the 83rd minute but missed before Burton kicked one short the next set. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The Warriors five-eighth had another crack right on half time of golden point but Reed Mahoney's fingertips meant it missed. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Burton then slotted home the winner in the 87th minute to make it two golden point victories in a row.<\/p>\n

"Canterbury are an absolute miracle at the moment, there's something so special about the Bulldogs in 2024," commentator Andrew Voss said.<\/p>\n

"Incredible scenes here\ufeff," Parker added.<\/p>\n

"It's been one of the games of the season."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Post-game, Burton the result down to his hard-working forwards. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"We just hung in there and kept grinding it out, and I was lucky enough to get it there in the end," he said.<\/p>\n

"It's special. I just want to step up and put those ones over for the boys, it goes to show how hard the middles are working. Good that I could ice it."<\/p>\n

While it was pure elation for the Bulldogs there are some concerns with Kurtis Morrin and Viliame Kikau put on report.<\/p>\n
