Former NRL<\/a> player-turned boxer Curtis Scott<\/a> \ufeffsays Barry Hall<\/a> needs to "get over" Paul Gallen<\/a>, telling reporters the former Sydney Swan has a "weird obsession" with the ex-NSW skipper.<\/p>\n

While Gallen retired from boxing two years ago, the Sharks great has been on the tip of Hall's tongue throughout the lead up to his clash with Scott in Wollongong next Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Gallen and Hall squared off in 2019, with the fight controversially ending as a majority draw.<\/p>\n

The NRL great has thrown his support behind Scott for the fight, even spending time with the former Melbourne Storm player and taking a shot at Hall on Instagram about his winless professional record.<\/p>\n

Gallen labelled Hall a "delusional desperate" last month, and when the former AFL star was asked about the retired great's criticism during a press conference in Sydney's Redfern on Thursday, Hall hit back.<\/p>\n

"It's strange for a guy who won't stop talking about me, and wants to be in the conversation all the time and throw shade at people.<\/p>\n

"I don't really want to talk about him anymore, because he'll have a sook about it.<\/p>\n

"But when the time's right I will."<\/p>\n

Despite Hall's declaration, Scott, who now trains daily to fulfil his ambitions in the ring, said his opponent can't stop talking about his former rival\ufeff.<\/p>\n

"He's still looking at that Paul Gallen fight. That's all he's spoken about this whole camp is Paul Gallen," Scott told Main Event.<\/p>\n

"He doesn't want to be here. He keeps talking about Gallen, he has this weird obsession with him. Gallen is retired but he has not stopped speaking about him.<\/p>\n

"He's already counting his chickens before they hatched. I've taken that personally.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

Gallen, who declined the opportunity to comment when contacted by Wide World of Sports on Friday, has offered Scott his perspective ahead of the bout.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffHe's given me some advice but I'll keep that in house. Obviously Gal doesn't really like him that much," Scott said.<\/p>\n

"He just wants me to get the win. Gal's taken a backseat and he's pushing me in areas where he can help me. He's good to have in my corner."<\/p>\n

Hall stated earlier in the year that a rematch against either Gallen or Sonny Bill Williams would be the logical next step if he beats Scott next week.<\/p>\n

But Hall, 47, also admitted the bout against Scott will decide whether he has a future in the boxing game.<\/p>\n

"If I don't beat Curtis Scott, it stops me, my boxing is finished," Hall added.<\/p>\n

"I need to win this one to move forward. If not, the train stops."<\/p>\n

With Hall's boxing mortality in the spotlight, the 0-2 fighter says Scott could also see his career in the ring go down the tubes if he doesn't get the win.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I don't see where he goes (if he loses)," Hall continued.<\/p>\n
