Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Wasim Khan has stated that indeed today is very sad for everyone involved with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six.<\/strong><\/p>\n

PSL 6 was postponed indefinitely after three new COVID-19 cases were confirmed among players earlier today.<\/p>\n

“It’s a very challenging day for us [PCB], cricket lovers, stakeholders, players and officials involved,” Wasim said while talking to a presser at the National Stadium in Karachi.<\/p>\n

“Health and safety of the players are above everything so we came to the conclusion that it is best to postpone the event,” he added.<\/p>\n

Wasim revealed that the PCB will try to create a window for PSL 6 just like they did for PSL 5 last year.<\/p>\n

“Biosecure bubble is all about\u00a0<\/span>trust<\/span>\u00a0and discipline. Building\u00a0<\/span>trust<\/span>\u00a0will take some time but we make sure this doesn\u2019t happen again.<\/span>\u00a0Postponing PSL is a difficult moment for PCB and fans too but we PCB are resilient to make PSL6 possible again,” he added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wasim stated that it was a collective fault and it’s not the time to pass the blame. “We have done everything, we possibly could but with any bio-secure bubble, it takes partnerships, discipline and self-policing. These are the factors for us to remember.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Director \u2013 Commercial Babar Hamid stated that currently, it is impossible to calculate the financial loss.<\/p>\n

“We can\u2019t calculate the financial loss, for now, will sit and go through everything in short period of time. Our first priority is the safety of players,” Babar said.<\/p>\n
