The wrestling world is mourning the passing of WWE<\/a> Hall of Famer Sika Anoa'i, who was one half of the legendary Wild Samoans tag team.<\/p>\n

Anoa'i, who is the father of wrestling champion Roman Reigns, made a name for himself alongside his brother Afa Anoa'i, with the duo becoming three-time WWE tag team champions.<\/p>\n

The Wild Samoans inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.<\/p>\n

Sika Anoa'i was 79.<\/p>\n

The news was announced on Instagram by his nephew, Jahrus Anoa'i.<\/p>\n

"It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the passing of Former Hall of Famer, Polaivao Leati Sika Anoa'i. He passed away peacefully on June 25th.<\/p>\n

"Sika was a celebrated figure whose contributions and legacy have left an indelible mark.<\/p>\n

His memory will live on through his achievements and the many lives he touched," Jahrus wrote in the announcement.<\/p>\n

"He was many things: a hard working father, a caring brother, a supportive uncle, and a proud grandfather. He was a cherished friend to many, a loving family member whose warmth and kindness knew no bounds, and an inspiration to countless individuals.<\/p>\n

"His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift future generations, reminding us of the impact one person's life can have on so many. Rest in love Uncle Sika."<\/p>\n

The wrestler started his career in 1973, joining WWE seven years later and last performed for the promotion in 1988.<\/p>\n

However, his legacy has continued as the company used "The Bloodline" angle that has dominated WWE programming since 2020.<\/p>\n

The company brought him back along with Afa\ufeff, to present Roman Reigns with the "Ula Fala" necklace, meaning he is the "Tribal Chief," the leader of the Bloodline.<\/p>\n

Anoa'i had five children, including Reigns and fellow wrestler Matthew Anoa'i, better known as Rosey.<\/p>\n
