Australian skateboarders \ufeffKeegan Palmer and Arisa Trew have produced winning performances a month out from Paris 2024<\/a>, taking gold in the park competitions at the final Olympic<\/a> qualifier series meet before the Games.<\/p>\n

Palmer, the reigning Olympic champion in the men's park event, claimed victory in Budapest at the weekend with \ufeffa winning run of 94.94.<\/p>\n

Trew, who's only 14, beat her rivals in the women's park event with a top score of \ufeff93.38.<\/p>\n

"There are no words. I'm just speechless at this point," said Palmer, a 21-year-old from the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n

"It was very stressful. Watching three people land 90s before I had to drop in is quite a scary feeling. I've learnt to control those feelings now and it worked out today.<\/p>\n

\"Arisa<\/p>\n

"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to represent my country once again. It felt so good to listen to the national anthem. There were no tears but definitely some emotions, being like, 'Yes, finally back on another podium'. It's been a while so I'm very happy."<\/p>\n

Trew, who also hails from the Gold Coast, said she was "amazed" by how she went in Budapest.<\/p>\n

"My first run didn't go as well as I wanted to; I just landed a bit sketchy on everything. But on my second run it was really good because I landed it well with a lot of speed," Trew said.<\/p>\n

\"Olympic<\/p>\n

"When I landed my second run I didn't really think that it would be a winning run. I thought I could probably be like top five or four \u2014 I wasn't sure \u2014 but I definitely wasn't thinking that it would go into first. So when I saw it [the score] I was in shock."<\/p>\n

Palmer and Trew are ranked second in the men's and women's Paris 2024 park rankings respectively.<\/p>\n

Another Australian, a 20-year-old \ufeffcalled Kieran Woolley from Minnamurra on the south coast of NSW, finished sixth in the men's park competition in Budapest.<\/p>\n
