A\ufeff man has been charged by police after allegedly sending a threatening message to NRL<\/a> official Adam Gee prior to a round 15 fixture.<\/p>\n

The referee was reportedly on his way to Accor Stadium for the clash between the Rabbitohs<\/a> and Broncos<\/a> when he received the message from an unknown person.<\/p>\n

Gee alerted the NRL integrity unit immediately after becoming aware of the abuse, but opted to referee the match despite the threat.<\/p>\n

The exact contents of the message have not been made public, but police have charged the offender for "using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend and intimidation".<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old man has also been served with a personal violence order and will attend Sutherland Local Court this week.<\/p>\n
