A\ufeffustralian basketball star Josh Giddey<\/a> has been traded by his NBA<\/a> team in a move set to breathe new life into his stuttering career.<\/p>\n

ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski says Giddey will join the Chicago Bulls after being traded from Oklahoma City Thunder.<\/p>\n

In exchange the Thunder will reportedly land two-time All-Defensive guard Alex Caruso\ufeff for next season.<\/p>\n

Giddey, 21, is regarded as Australia's most exciting men's basketball export since Ben Simmons, who was picked first in the 2016 NBA draft.<\/p>\n

Giddey joined the Thunder with pick No.6 in the 2021 draft.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe 210-centimetre Melbourne product plays point guard.<\/p>\n

Giddey is still on his NBA rookie contract but is set to pocket about $12.4 million next season from that alone.<\/p>\n

He will be a restricted free agent once his rookie contract expires.<\/p>\n

He enjoyed a boom 2022-23 NBA season but saw his on-court minutes and his form drop this year.<\/p>\n

Police and the NBA dropped the investigations and found Giddey had no case to answer<\/a>.<\/p>\n
