S\ufefferbia have threatened to withdraw from Euro 2024<\/a> after a series of "scandalous" chants from rival fans during the tournament.<\/p>\n

Before a 1-1 draw against Slovenia on Thursday night (AEST),<\/strong> the general secretary of Serbian football Jovan Surbatovic demanded UEFA step in and take action against the teams in question.<\/p>\n

It has been alleged \ufeffthat fans from both Albania and Croatia chanted "kill the Serb" in the second half of their Group B clash earlier in the week.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Serbian state-owned broadcaster RTS, Surbatovic condemned the actions of the crowd and hopes to see the governing body make a decision soon.<\/p>\n

"What happened is scandalous and we will ask UEFA for sanctions, even if it means not continuing the competition," he said.<\/p>\n

"We will demand from UEFA to punish both federations. We do not want to participate in that, but if UEFA does not punish them, we will think how will we proceed."<\/p>\n

Earlier in the campaign, journalist Arlind Sadiku was removed from his duties after using an anti-Serb gesture towards the country's fans.<\/p>\n

In an official statement, the Serbian FA said it had sent a letter to UEFA general secretary Theodore Theodoridis in regards to the "shameful joint chanting".<\/p>\n
